August 19th, 2010 Dear Marilyn, Stan, and Family, I am hastening to write you this evening after hearing just this afternoon that we have lost your dear sister, Isabelle. This was a real shock to me, as I didn’t know that she was ill. I do want to express my deepest sympathy to you, especially, Marilyn, and to Stan and all the family in this great loss. Isabelle was such a warm, gracious person, and (though I hardly remembered her from my younger days) she treated me so warmly when I saw her again at the funeral of "Aunt Betty." I was glad to see her at Knox, too, I think it was after Betty’s passing. I’m sure my parents knew her well, especially Dad, who also grew up in the Knox family. From what I gathered from Dad and your sister Betty, and dear Kay Campbell, I think the young people of the church spent lots of time together and served the Lord together in different ways through the years. You will so miss your two lovely sisters at Christmas especially, I’m sure. I remember Betty's telling me about the wonderful family gatherings that you all had at her place for Christmas. May the Lord comfort you in the knowledge that it is only “au revoir” for all who have trusted the Lord Jesus and His redeeming death on the cross for our sins and have given our hearts to Him in repentance, faith and love. This truth is such a blessing for me when I miss my dear parents and other loved ones such as your Betty, who was so good to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, and especially with you, Marilyn. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to come to the funeral tomorrow, as I now live in Montreal. If you are ever here, I’d be so glad to welcome you in my home. Please just let me know. My brother David and I just prayed together for all of you over the phone. Dave sends you his condolence, too. Much love in Christ, Rosemary “There’s a land that is fairer than day, and by faith I can see it afar; for the Father waits over the way to prepare us a dwelling place there. In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore. In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore.” “For I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day.” – 2 Timothy 1:12

Our sincere condolences to Isobel's family. We were lucky enough to have been neighbours for 57 years and Belcourt Road will never be the same without her smiling presence. She brightened many a day when we stopped to chat and we will miss her.
