William, Alexander, Jamie and Mariam, My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to you all. I was shocked to learn of Janet’s death this morning. We had talked a couple of weeks ago, to discuss summer plans and catch up. After the call, my son, Gordon had asked "Was that the Blue Fairy?" and we reminisced over his early memories of Jan, her sense of fun and her wonderful gifts which were undoubtedly wrapped with blue fairy dust. She was loved by all. I have lost a cherished life friend and professional colleague. With love and sympathy, Susan Courage

Janet and I have known each other since our children, Alexander and Leah, attended nursery school together at Play and Learn in the early 80's. That began a 27 year friendship and support network. What a tragic loss!! I will remember her long and well.

I will always remember Janet as the stunning blonde in mink--arriving to our winter U of T Arabic class--so many years ago. I was the "other blonde" in night class and we immediately connected. Our husbands, both Lebanese, united us in experience and we went on to share homework, food recipes and lots of chuckles. Janet was a delight, so generous, gracious, sincere and thoughtful. My life has been enriched by my good fortune in meeting her. My condolences to your family, Lila Massaad

Dear William and family: What devastating news. We are so very sorry. Words fail. I last spoke to Janny at the Jarvis reunion, not long ago. Our meeting before that, years before, was most eerie and marvelous. Perhaps the children remember. Tim and I were on an eastern seaboard trip with our son, Tom (then about 8 years old). We'd taken a ferry to Deer Island to explore and were sitting in a banquette/booth of a well known lobster restaurant, chowing down. We were, as it happens, talking about Janny, tossing up some old memories. Then I cocked my head because I heard a familiar voice speaking in the banquette behind. Lifting and twisting to see, who was there but Janny and the three children, then quite young. I think we were all in shock by the bizarre cooincidence. Janny was a force of nature. One of a kind. Our very deepest condolences. Tim and Ann

I was shocked and saddened when I heard from Bob of Jan's passing. Although I haven't been in touch with Jan for many years, I was fortunate to see both of you at the CJC reunion last October in Toronto. We had a lovely conversation and she was so happy and proud of her family and of course her weight loss. I remember Jan in Lausanne as a true, kind and generous person. I have many special memories and pictures of our times together during that year. William, please know how sorry I am to hear of Jan's death at her young age. My condolences to you and your children during this painful and difficult time. Liz
