I'll always remember your dad as a friendly, witty man who could really relate to us as kids. He always seemed to be present, occasionally watching as we played all those countless games of ball hockey, baseball and football right in front of the Crofton house. I also remember he drove Jim and I to many hockey practices and games. As I recall he also played a very believable Santa Claus on Christmas eve. I am very sorry that Stephanie and I did not know earlier of the visitation at Humphrey`s. Both my brother and Paul Wickham phoned me Saturday afternoon at work and told me of your dad`s passing. Our thoughts are with you Pat, George, Jim and Chris and your families. John and Stephanie Foster

Please except our condolences - Jim and Marci and family. With John's dad passing away a few weeks ago, our memories of them at the cottage working and puttering around are endless. We will always remember the paddle boat cruises and the friendly smiles and hellos. They will always be remembered especially at Stormy Lake.

Our sympathies go out to Pat and to the children and grandchildren of Fred and Pat. We have fond memories of the happy family occasions at mother's home (Claire Stephenson) with Pat and Fred. As mother was named after Fred's mother, Aunt Clara, there has always been a close family association. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Dear Pat, George and Jim; I was deeply saddened to learn of Fred’s passing. He was a wonderful husband and father and a great neighbour. He was such a kind man and a good friend. Occasionally I detour past the Crofton / Airdrie corner and I fondly remember my early childhood there and all the neighbours who were a part of it, my extended family. I remember lunches at your house and Sunday School picnics. It was a pleasure to have known Fred. We will all miss him but our memories will keep him alive. I am sorry I cannot be there as I’ll be out of town, but my love and prayers are with you all. Fondly, Mary (MacVicar) Kalanda

To the Archer Family: I was saddened today to read of "Uncle Fred's" passing. I remember as a boy spending a lot of happy times with George and Jim at Stormy Lake with our respective parents. The bugs could be bad but the times were good! I'm sure I speak for my brother Ted as well when I say that we rejoice in his long and happy life and we will cherish Fred's memory. Our best wishes and sincere condolences. Bob Harrison
