I am sorry to say that I did not know my cousin Mary Helen very well, living in Southern California for more than 30 years , the miles kept us apart. But with this memory book I know that our family has been blessed with so many wonderful thoughts and memories of her and I will learn more about her from them. God Bless Mary Helen. May her memory live forever to all her knew and loved her. Peace to all who mourn her passing. love and hugs, Maggie

All of us who went to Camp Onawaw were privileged to be able to know "Sean" -Mary Helen. Her spunk, her laugh, her sense of humour, and her sailing abilities -wow. She continues to be an inspiration - how to sail well in good and adverse weather.

Dear Sean, I can still hear the beautiful sounds of our Onawaw voices singing: "I hear the winds of God today, today my sails I lift..." Thank you for launching many years of happiness and a lifetime of memories for me as an Onawaw camper. You made a difference in the lives of so many young people.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Mary Helen was my biology teacher and homeroom teacher for two years at Valley Heights. She always made us laugh. We knew she cared about us and had a heart of gold. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing.

My deepest sympathy to your family in the passing of Mary Helen. I had the pleasure of working for many years with Mary Helen at Valley Heights S.S. I will never forget her support and encouragement shown to me as a beginning teacher. I will also never forget her dedication to her students and her science department. Mary Helen also worked relentlessly for our members as our union President and for that I will be forever grateful.

We were very sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend Mary Helen. My husband and Mary Helen taught at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School and she became a friend to us and our family. I have great memories of our girl's weekeends at her cottage on Lake Bernard and lately visits at her apartment on Walmer Road. It was wonderful to share her birthday dinner last year with her Aunt Jo and our grandson Devon. We have made a donation in her name to the Science Department at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School.

Having seen Mary Helen the Sunday before she died when she was chipper and laughing and delighted in everything, it was a shock to read that she had died. I remember MH so well as a camper- i shared a cabin with Martha's older sister- I was craft Counsellor "Don" from 1954 to...??- a cheery blonde pixie like camper who grew into a cheery pixie like Counsellor!! My heart goes out to her family and close friends and all who knew her better than I did at Camp Onawaw. I hope she is sailing with a glorious wind!!! Love and prayers Anitra/"Don"
