Loving husband, father and grandfather, Fred died peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 19th, 2010. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie, children Melanie (Greg), Colleen (Pete), Kerry (Murray) and John (Cathy). Fred will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Hayley, Stephanie, Erin, and Courtney, Dale, and Christopher, Patrick, Andrew, Geoffrey and Bryan. Fred is survived by his sister Rita and brother Mickey and predeceased by brother Al. Fred was born in Montreal in 1924. In Toronto Fred worked for Shell Oil for 30 years. Once retired Fred was devoted to teaching ESL to those new to Canada. In retirement Fred was also happily busy with his love of art, cooking and travel. Fred had a life long passion for his family and his many friends; he will have a special place in the hearts of all that he touched. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. BONAVENTURE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1300 Leslie Street, on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
