Obituary of Helen Light

LIGHT, Helen Passed away on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 in Toronto. Born in Niagara Falls, Helen was the only child of parents, Elaine and Thomas Sterne. After a wonderful childhood, she met her beloved future husband Douglas Light, who predeceased her, and enjoyed many happy years of marriage. Together they had two loved children: Silvia who, unfortuantely, predeceased her parents while Reagan married Didem (Alganturk) Light, who became a true daughter to Helen. As well, Jason Light, her only grandson, brought great joy into Helen's life. Helen led an active and exciting life that involved tennis, bridge, skiing, hiking, theatre and ballet attendance as well as volunteer work for numerous organizations, including the Ballet Company. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from York University and was Valedictorian of her class. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
