BROWN, Elizabeth (Betty)
Elizabeth Brown died peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at The Wexford Residence in her 98th year. Born in East York on August 24, 1912, Betty lived most of her life in Leaside and East York. She was the devoted wife for 65 years of the late Arthur E. Brown (2000), Assistant Superintendent of Education of the Toronto Board of Education. Loving mother of Elizabeth Fletcher and her husband John of Toronto and Kathleen Stubbs and her late husband Fred of Balsam Lake. Grandmother of Kathryn Gough and her husband Ron of Appin, Ontario, Eric Fletcher and his wife Valerie of Mississauga, Andrew Fletcher and his wife Michele of Etobicoke, David Stubbs of Vancouver and Mary-Jean Edwards and her husband Carey of Lake Scugog. Betty is survived by nine great-grandchildren, a niece Florence Lancashire and family and a nephew George Stephen and family. Betty was the youngest child of the late George and Elizabeth (McKenzie) Stephen. She was predeceased by her brothers Jim and George Stephen. The family wishes to express its thanks to the staff of The Wexford Residence for the excellent care during the past nine years. A memorial service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), Toronto on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.
