Dear Forbes family, I had the priviledge of meeting Elizabeth's grandmother at your camp a few years ago, and I remember her as being full of spunk and positive energy. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope that the celebration of her full life can bring some comfort in the time ahead for you all. My thoughts are with you.

As a writer, editor and typesetter at Northern Life from 1973 - 1975, I saw Peg regularly when she dropped off her column. She was always gracious to me, a young and enthusiastic reporter and social activist. Have fond memories of one of her wilder schemes -- making Sudbury "greener" by painting the rocks. Think I still have a copy of the column she did about that, if you're interested. She definitely livened up Sudbury in her days there. Sounds as though she kept doing that elsewhere for the rest of her long life. Sorry for your troubles but know she left people like me, who encountered her years ago, with good memories. I trust you have many of your own.

Jock and family: Barbara and I are so sorry for your loss. We loved Peg, just saw her last summer in Whitefish Falls at the show. She was such good friends with my dad also. I will think of her every time I turn through the channel on the way back to Miller Bay. May God's Grace comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Jock and Diana. Just wanted to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. It is never easy but your mother has an extraordinary amount of accomplishments in her lifetime and I'm not sure she is finished yet. You should be proud and celebrate her amazing life. With our deepest regrets John & Kathy

My Mother, Doris Filshie, who is also in her 90th year asked that I convey her condolences to the family. Their mothers, Muriel Clement and Marjorie Schell Ankenmann were good friends. It is not clear to me how well my Mother knew Mrs. Forbes but I know whenever she was mentioned, it was always with admiration. I do remember newsy Christmas letters with many references to her numerous activities. From her obituary, it would seem that she touched the lives of many with her kindness and her generous spirit. Sincerely, Meredith Filshie

Dear Jock and Diana, Ii am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. I will always remember her great enthusiasm for the cottage and the famous tree house. She was always very welcoming when we dropped by and of course one would have to take an excursion "up" for tea. Best regards, Susan
