Keith and Ann Hopkin posted a condolence
Sunday, December 20, 2009
Ann and I would like to send our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family of Hazel Winter. We were shocked and saddened at her sudden passing. Since my dad Frank Hopkin (a brother to Hazel)passed away in 2001, Hazel and I had become very close. She talked very lovingly about my dad. We had may long talks with regards to the good old days on Manitoulin Island, over tea and cookies at her Leaside home. By the look on her face, I am not sure how she felt when I roared up in her driveway on my Harley. Ann and Hazel both had a common interest in gardening. Hazel would enjoy hearing from Ann about what new flowers she had planted. Hazel talked very lovingly about Tom, Susan and David. She spoke frequently about how wonderful her last visit to see Susan was. Tom was always looking in on her to see how she was doing and taking care of small chores around her home. David was always in her thoughts and she enjoyed visiting him at his home in Orillia. She loved all of her grandchildren. She spoke of them often and was so proud of each one. Hazel thought a lot of Jan her next door neighbour, who kept a close eye on Hazel. The passing of Hazel will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all of us. She was a fine, gentle and loving lady. Hazel, we loved you so much. You will be deeply missed. Sincerely, Keith Hopkin and Family.
