To Anne, Ben, Patrick, Lisa, Paul, Gavin, Tania and Barry. As I read the many wonderful memories and sentiments expressed by your relatives and friends about Pat; I feel it is a pity that he himself cannot see how so many people held him in such high esteem. I remember in 1967, when Quinnsworth Stillorgan opened as the first supermarket in Dublin; my father (Frank Quinn) suggested that I should traverse the city to do 'the weekly shopping' there in order to support my cousin Pat. Pat was 'a man of vision'; he showed such enormous flair in knowing 'what the customer wanted'. We all felt immensely proud to be related to such a dynamic, talented and generous man. Anne, you are a very special person, Pat needed your constant love and support. Please take care of yourself now in this sad time for you and your loving family. Vonnie McLoughlin (Dublin)

Dear Anne & family, It was with great sadness that we read of Pat's death today in the Irish Times. I remember first seeing Pat in Shannon when I was a child opening Quinnsworth. I was not to know then that our paths would cross again when I moved to Toronto and Seanie McNamara introduced me to the famous Pat Quinn. We spent many happy times in PJ's and I always remember his warm & generous welcome and smile...particularly welcome when far away from home! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time as you bid farewell and I know it will be a wonderful celebration of his life and his contribution to Irish and Irish-Canadian life. Shocked to learn of Pats untimely death. He was one great character. I worked with Pat in the mid 1970s while he was developing the Kilternan Leisure Hotel. He was very far sighted and could anticipate what the public wanted. He was most unfortunate that the Oil Crisis struck at that time. Ireland lost a great entrepreneur when Pat left with his family for Canada

The things I liked and admired about Pat Quinn: He prefected the art of communication. He loved the limelight, but he never hogged it. He was a great showman, who stood out a mile. He could make a serious decision while standing on his feet. He recognised a good deal, fast. He loved to make people happy, especially with good bargains. He gave everyone a chance to sell their product.

He traveled to all of our company stores along the 401 with his sons and kept our tables full and our registers ringing. He also brought a group of us to see some Irish entertainment in Toronto which was a night to remember first class all the way. He had what we called in retail "the touch".
