Douglas Craignethie Stewart 1921 - 2009 Peacefully, on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his family, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Nancy and proud father of Cameron, David and Heather. Devoted grandfather of Chris, Ted, Sam and Ian. Doug was born in Toronto and earned a B. Com. at Victoria College. He served overseas during World War II as a Lieutenant in the Signal Corps of the Canadian Army. Following the war, Doug became a chartered accountant with Glendinning, Jarrett, Grey & Roberts and ultimately a partner in Jarrett, Gould & Elliot, which subsequently merged with Price Waterhouse. Following his retirement, Doug volunteered with Deer Park United Church, Central Hospital and East York Meals on Wheels. The family members wish to express their deep appreciation for the superb care given to Doug by the staff at K-Wing of Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.
