I met Mrs Kettlewell during the late 1950s. She was the mother of my good friend Don Hutton.
She was to my young eyes, a Kate Hepburn look alike, someone who'd command attention in any crowd.
Her kindness to Don's friends and myself extended long after Don's passing and will always be remembered.
She became a fierce warrior at the Bridge table. It must be far easier to win at bridge at the Toronto Granite Club these days.
We'll not forget you.

A grand and graceful lady who lived such a full and exciting life - an inspiration indeed. I think fondly of some very special moments with her, especially attending her 90th birthday party. I know she will be greatly missed by her family. My thoughts at this time are especially with her only grand daughter, Megan.

It was with great sadness that I read the obituary of this magnificent woman. In latter years I had the amazing experience of arranging the travel for many of Audrey's trips; many of them to Western Canada to visit her sons. One trip which stands out in my mind is the trip to Cuba when she travelled with her son, Michael. Since Audrey was well advanced in years at the time I thought of her every day and prayed that all would go well.........WELL, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN......... the day after her return home she called to say that they had a marvelous time and were going back next year; however, she wished to go for 2 weeks rather than just 1 week. I always looked forward to her telephone conversations when she would keep me mesmerized with her tales of the bridge tournaments at the Granite Club; her personal trainer; the latest trip........all of this when she had passed her 90th birthday. Her spirit and enthusiasm for life will remain with me forever. To the family I extend my condolence and to the sons, of whom she was so very proud, I thank you for sharing your Mother with me from time to time. Sincerely, Shirley Shelby
