Sharon, Brad, Stefni and families, John Cox was one of the most inspirational human beings I have ever met. His love of life, his wonderful sense of humour and willingness to "do it all" is unmatched. I have very fond memories through knowing him as a Jaguar and Rolls Royce dealer in Toronto while I was employed by Jaguar Canada. It has been several years since I saw him--Sharon, you'll recall it was when Steve Ramsden sent his plane to Niagara-on-the-Lake to take us all to Quebec City for dinner on the occasion of John Mackie's retirement from Jaguar Canada. Those were the days -- with deep condolences to each of you. May your special memories bring you great comfort. With best regards, Janice Thomson

Dear Brad and Family, Most sincere condolences. John was a rare man: a gentleman of great character and humor. I consider myself very fortunate and privileged to have known him. One day I will come back to Toronto and I know it will seem a lesser somewhat empty place without him. God bless you, your family and of course Sharon. Mark Hensby Liverpool, UK

I consider myself a good friend of Coxy. I saw him almost every weekday for the last 18 months at Hemmingway’s. We exchanged books on a very regular basis, at least a couple a week going one way or the other. We both loved to read and shared similar taste of material. Last week John implored me to borrow a history book which wasn’t our normal pace. The book, Millionaire about the 18th century financier, John Law was outstanding and it was Tuesday at lunch when I attempted to return it that I was told of John’s demise (Bradley – contact Eli at Hemmingway’s so I may arrange to return it to you). It is with fond memories and numerous laughs that I say goodbye for now – John Cox. Dear Brad & family, Perhaps you recall the year 2004, around April when I started working with you at "Grand Touring Autos.", and you were planning to leave the sales business, to pursue that trucking venture, and possibly go to school? I was initially stationed at the Avenue Road office of "Rolls Royce Motor Cars", where I met your Dad, John, who a couple of times stopped by during his morning walks on Avenue Road., to check up on how I was planning to sell those massive vehicles, with the help of the marketing gent, also stationed with me at that location, William Hamilton. Your Dad, Brad, always had some kind of suggestion, hint, or passive directive as to how to sell the vehicles, referring to some kind of past experience during which he had applied his suggestion. He knew that I was being "fed to the hounds" (his words), being stationed at that location without much guidance from anyone, having explained to him during one of his morning stopovers, that I was a former banker. His reflections were always replete with many anecdotes, and little jokes and humorous lines, as he could tell that I was a little nervous, trying to find my bearings, and to somehow make a go of this whole new sales adventure, selling these beautiful and historic vehicles. As I reflect, he was always quite encouraging, with his trademark smile, and that sarcastic humour, based on his English upbringing, never implying anything with force. Initially I wondered who is this chap? Later on I learned of his previous involvement from others, being quite grateful for his impromptu visits, always with words of gentle encouragement, and direction. "Hey Brad", I'm still in this business, having only experienced an industry in transition, and never having experienced the tremendous growth and sales excitement that he nurtured and survived with unbelievable memories stored in his being. May those 'memories' somehow encourage, and sustain you through this unexpected life's situation, encouraging you to continue living, working, and thriving in his name, accomplishing all that you wish to accomplish professionally, and personally, with his trademark enthusiasm for life, and for his beloved mysterious English motor car brands. Wishing you, and yours much peace, Terry Michaels, Sales Robert Motors Jaguar (416) 2070565-#325

Johnny: Sorry--As usual my mind was elsewhere last week when Sammy(Berkel) came into New York Deli with his mother-in-law and mentioned something about a reception and Coxy and Prego's to a friend I was sitting with. Didnt make the connection and found out today when the friend and i were walking through chapter's and ran into someone that expanded on the prego's/Coxy "reception". I was and still am shocked. Just a few weeks ago i was discussing Johnny with David Geneen at the Ghost preview and we were both gushing about what a tremendous guy Johnny is. We are all poorer for having lost you and so much more richer for having known you. Coxy was one very classy guy! My condolences to Sharon and all his family.
