We were so sorry to hear about Aunty Lorna. I remember fondly spending a summer with her and Uncle Harold after I had graduated from Teacher's College. I took a vocal and instrumental music course in Toronto and instead of having to commute, Aunty Lorna offered her home to me. I remember how kind they were, showing me how to take a bus, subway and street car to get to my course location. They also tolerated me every evening while I learned the basics of how to play 8 different musical instruments-trumpet, violin, flute etc.etc. I don't know how they did it! And as if that were not enough, that was the summer that I met Norm and he came frequently to take me out on a date! It was such a nice time and I so enjoyed getting to know Aunty Lorna and Uncle Harold. She will always hold a soft spot in my heart. What a great lady!

Aunt Lorna has held a special place in my heart all of my life. As the Aunt and Uncle to my father, Jack Cook, we have many childhood memories spent at Aunt Lorna and Uncle Harold's home, to regular dinners in their home while I attended Nursing School in Toronto (and the care packages of cookies I brought back to residence with me, weddings, and other family gatherings....an exceptional woman with an exceptional family. We are all blessed to have been a member of this family.

My sincere condolences to all of you in the death of your mother Lorna. I, Valerie Borsk am the oldest of Ralph and Aileen Grant's three daughters. It was many years ago that we lived next to you on Leacrest Road. The last time I saw your mother was at a lunch at Joan and Judy Bell's condo in Leaside. Ruth Bell, my mother, my two sisters, and your mother and I had a lovely lunch and a great time together sharing old memories and lots of laughs. Your mother was a wonderful woman, never to be forgotten. Sincerely, Val

Our thoughts are with the Cook family at this time of sorrow and celebration of a long life, well lived. Lorna was incredibly kind to me and my family even after I spent several months living in their household and permanently twisting her youngest son as a person and as a human being. Her consistent good humour and kindness will be missed. Bob and Joyce Weil
