I was very fortunate to have met Kay and her lovely daughter Kristen through a mutual and dear friend, Mary Campbell. I have always admired her extraordinary courage in the face of strong challenges which she shouldered with grace, elegance and humour. She is a role model for many of us older ladies on how to approach life, it's challenges and it's rewards. I pray that I too will have her courage in the face of adversity and will receive the gift of loyal and dedicated friends as she always did. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Dear Kirsten and family: I worked with Kay at RBC, and I am so sorry to learn of her passing. She was a creative, skilled communicator who was kind and fair as a manager and approached each project -- and each day -- with enthusiasm. Although I knew of her ongoing battle, we rarely spoke of it. Instead, nearly all her personal stories centred around you, Kirsten. She was a proud mother, and many of us whom you never met certainly feel as though we know you. Kay's passing is a loss to all who knew her. My deepest condolences to you, Kirsten, and to the rest of your family. Jennifer Matthews

I will miss Kay in my world. She was the highest "quality" human being I have ever met and as such, has been my subtle mentor in making me a better person. Kristen, I am so sorry I can't be there for the service. Please know I will be thinking of you, Kay's family...and Kay, on Thursday. My deepest sympathies Dayl

Kirsten and Family: I am greatly saddened to hear the news about Kay. She was an amazing person with a zest for life that is rarely seen. She was always there for you with that dry British sense of humour. I worked with Kay at Royal Trust and was always learning from her. Kirsten, Kay thought the world of you and many a day wouldn't go by by without a Kirsten story at the office. It was a privilege to have known her. She fought a valiant battle and is an inspiration. She would drop by the office occasionally in the past few years for a visit and was always upbeat and planning her next trip. She lived life to the fullest. I am very sorry that I cannot be there on Thursday as I am currently out of the province. Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your family. Dianne Gedge

Kay was a classy lady. She was a mentor to me for many years at work and an inspiration in how she handled her illness and treatments these past few years. We are all richer for having known her. She leaves a wonderful legacy in her daughter, Kirsten, who Kay spoke about with such pride.
