Very sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. Can recall many great hockey games we played for St. Brigid's YPC and Bernie's constant smile.

Dear Betty, Please accept our sincerest condolences on the death of Bernard. My Mother Veronica McLennan and Bernards Father Russell, were Brother and Sister. Bernard was my confirmation sponsor back in 1954 at our lady of peace Church in Etobicoke when I was twelve I remember my parents for many many years keeping a newspaper clipping when Bernard as a young child fell out of a window in Toronto. Aunt Marion and my Mother talked quite a bit so I usually knew what was going on with Bernard. My Aunt and Uncle were quite proud of him. I did not know his first name was James. He was probably named after our Grandfather James Christie I'm sorry we were not able to attend the funeral as we just arrived home from being out of town. Aunt Betty,Tim , Charlene and families; As the years go by and at these times we look back , one of the best memories that I have of my uncle Bernie is when stood by me when I was confermed. I remember this big man with his hands on my shoulders he had so much to give and I learned not so much from what he said but how he lived his life.I remember the baby showers, wedding showers and my mom and dads 30th at your place, sitting down stairs and watching a game with uncle Bernie. He was much loved and the memories will live on a very long time and he is in my heart forever. Much love to you all Michael
