ALLAN, Arthur Stephen
Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 at King Gardens Retirement Home in Mississauga at the age of 84. Arthur lived in the Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue area since 1940 when he arrived with his family from his homeland of Greece. In 2008, he moved to Leaside Retirement Home and then to King Gardens in Mississauga. Arthur was a well-profiled Crown Attorney for the Ontario Government until his retirement in the late 90s. Arthur was one of 4 children including his predeceased sisters Helen Allan of Toronto, Tessie (nee Allan) Harakas of Detroit and Marie Allan of North York. He is survived by his niece Vicki (Jim) Burbulis of Oakville, nephews Steve Harakas of Brighton, Michigan and Greg (Paige) Harakas of Fowlerville, Michigan, along with 8 great-nieces and great-nephews in Ontario and in Michigan, and one great-great-nephew in Ontario. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue), Toronto from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4. Church service will be held in the GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF PROPHET ELIAS, 1785 Matheson Boulevard, Mississauga on Saturday, September 5 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
