not sure if an earlier attempt got through, so am trying again. Have many fond memories of Peter and Lillian through the years with the Ontario Association of Real Estate Boards. The year I was President was the year Peter went to Markborough, 1966, and he was to have been my Vice President and I did not know how I was going to get through the year without him.

Dear Peter and family, I was saddened to hear of your father's passing. As you know I worked for Markborough for 13 years and it was primarily because of your father that I first joined the Company and secondly for staying as long as I did. Your Dad was a wonderful role model for me and I greatly respected the way in which he carried on business, the way in which he participated in Industry associations, and the way he so successful developed personal relationships. This is the part of Peter, for which I had the greatest admiration....his interpersonal skills. I actually made reference to Peter's influence on me during my retirement speech in January 2008. It goes something like this...When I was the a young person in the industry and the only employee of Markborough west of Toronto in 1976, Peter would visit me in Calgary to find out how things were going. When I picked Peter up at the airport in Calgary, the first thing that was on his mind was my well-being and that of my family. He made it a point of inquiring about my wife, her health and her job, my kids and how they were doing in school, and the activities in which they participated. He was not interested in talking about business until we arrived at my office. The most important thing to Peter was his relationship with me.....business came second. This really impressed me and became a motto on how I would conduct myself in my own career. Mind you, he was very astute in business as well and that skill also influenced me. Although Peter has left us, his legacy lives on. My personal best wishes to you Peter (Jr.), Paul and Ann Doug Kelly
