CHARTERS, Lillian (Lynn) Mary (nee McLaren) Peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Wyndham Manor in Oakville in her 83rd year. A long-time resident of East York in Toronto. She will be sorely missed by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth W. Charters, her daughter Christine (Rick) Ellas, her son Bruce (Allison) and her dearly loved grandchildren Madison, Shannon and Ethan. Also will be missed by her sisters Millie Jane, Verla Thorne and is predeceased by her sister Evelyn Dyer. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. Lynn was born in Kenora, Ontario on May 14, 1926. Her father Edwin's work with the CPR saw her younger years growing up in Saskatchewan along with her mother Ethel and sisters. Lynn later moved to Toronto where she married, settled and raised her family. She was an avid seamstress, active in the church and most notably, very involved in the earlier years of the Toronto Auxiliary of the Hemophilia Society. Many thanks for the care and comfort provided by the staff of Wyndham Manor in Oakville. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m on Wednesday August 12. If desired, donations are suggested for the Toronto and Central Ontario Regional Hemophilia Society, 45 Charles Street East, Suite 802, Toronto M4Y 1S2 (416-924-3446).
