Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Burgess family over the loss of Evelyn. We were happy to have reconnected with her in Oakville just last month. Her warm smile made us feel welcome, and she was eager to be active despite her ailments. We feel honored to have known Evelyn. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Sincerely, John, Teri, Mallory and Casey McMahon

Kathy and Mary: I was saddened to hear of both your mother and father's passing. We so enjoyed their kind and generous hospitality and acquaintance on Hilltop Road. It was always a pleasure to see you girls when you came to visit. Do keep well, all of you and yours, and remember the good times. Sincerely, Heert and Marilyn

I met Ev after moving to Brockville from Montreal in 2001. I joined the May Court Club of Brockville and met Ev at a dinner meeting. I knew we had mutual friends in Barbara and Arn Rogers. We had many lovely chats and I was Ev's last May Court Club Bridge Partner. We won some and lost some, but her charm and determination to "never give up" endeared her to me. We both loved classical music and played the piano. Her arthritis may have deterred her, but she rattled off a little Chopin one afternoon and we loved it. My sympathy to all the family, but knowing Ev - even for a few short years, I know you have many happy memories of your parents. Barbara Campbell
