I worked with Terry at Sceptre for 6 years. He always had a good word for everyone and was fun to be with. He liked a challenge and a laugh and I knew he liked to travel. We will all miss him.

If memory serves, it was about 1987 that I first met Terry. At the time, he worked in the shoe department of Roots Canada's flagship store at Avenue Road and Davenport. Laura, an old friend of mine from high school, worked with him on a regular basis and given I often picked her up after work, I saw and chatted with Terry often. In 1988, I took a semester off from my studies in the United States. Living in an apartment in Yorkville, I picked up a summer job at Roots that carried through to the Christmas season. In that time, I got to know Terry a little better and enough to develop a bit of a crush on him. Terry just had a wonderful sense about him that set him apart from others - always bright, funny, easy to chat with and a good guy. Everyone loved Terry. I should have known better, but I decided one day to crank call him from my store in Hazelton Lanes. Putting on a voice, I asked if Roots sold leather shower curtains. Quick on cool, Terry replied in a professional tone that "no, they did not". It was hard not to laugh at first. Insisting they did, I persisted in trying to have one set aside. Surely Terry knew it was a gag but instead of letting on, he steered the conversation right into a "custom order" scenario. For a while, there was a serious tone but eventually it gave way to laughter on my end of the phone and the call ended. It was days later that Terry contacted the Hazelton Lanes store and asked to speak with me and, yes, he had the last laugh. After doing a few routine stock checks on shoes. Terry closed the conversation with "and I guess you're all out of shower curtains too?" Bright boy that Terry Snell. It's been 21 years since then but I never forgot Terry. I think that more than anything material, memories are treasured possessions and for those I have collected over the years, my memory of Terry will be a bright one with which I will associate a lot of laughter and the heartfelt feelings of a first crush. I am glad to know that he had the best that life has to offer - that he was loved by many friends and family members. I hope the grieving process serves Terry's loved ones well and that with some, a sense of loss is off set my many happy and loving memories of your own.

Dear Tony, I am so sorry to hear about Terry. I never got to meet him; however, in talking to Paul he was an exceptional person and the two of you had 20 wonderful and loving years together. Soulmates, you two had what all of us look for all our lives. In time you will be able to concentrate on how lucky the two of you were to have each other and the life you built together. Times like this are so hard and my heart is breaking for you. Know that I am thinking of you and praying for you. You now have an angel that will guide and help you through these troubled times. God Bless! Love always, Tami
