Dr. Brown was one of my neighbours at Donway Place, and we met frequently in the hallway. Early in my stay here, I discovered Dr. Brown's art work posted on his door. Because my father was somewhat of an artist, I invited Dr. Brown to see my father's paintings on the walls in my rooms. He came, and looked at the paintings very carefully, and with obviously a practised artist's eye. Dr. Brown was always courteous to all he met, and the staff at Donway loved him. Even though I knew him for just under two years, he will always remain in my memory. It was a privilege to have known him.

please give my condolences to the members of the Brown family. I first met Jean at the Toronto Hunt where we shared many golf games. Norman and I were both artists which was a great interest for both of us. They both had a delightful sense of humour and fun but sadly as illness and aging took its toll we lost touch. You were all fortunate to have shared their lives and my thoughts are with you at this sad time, Sincerely, Ann Guthrie

When I saw the sign "Future site of North York General Hospital" in 1968, my prayers were answered. I enrolled in a night school Medical Secretary course and with new diploma in hand was interviewed by Dr. B. He was first Chief of Radiology at NYGH and I became his first secretary. He was a remarkably tolerant and patient employer; a fine gentleman. All "people" issues were turned over to him. He was empathetic and diplomatic. But, firm as well as fair. It was a privilege working for him. Much later, I enjoyed lunches and telephone calls with Dr. B. in the company of mutual friend, Jan Kneider, who had been his Technical Manager at the hospital. Dr. B. always had a joke or a story. Clear-minded, engaged and jovial to the end. He will be much missed and forever remembered. Condolences to the family. You were blessed to have such a remarkable father and grandfather.
