Obituary of Irene Maklary

MAKLARY, Irene Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29th 2007 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre after a long courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Irene was a very determined lady and, as a former resident of Leaside, she once fought City Hall and won! She spent most of her career working in the media buying departments of several Toronto advertising agencies. She will join her mother and father, the late Elizabeth and Louis Maklary. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Apjok; and she leaves behind her sister Margaret Bloos and husband Mike of Webster, New York; her nephew, Dennis Apjok and great-nephews Brian and Michael Apjok of Toronto; cousins in Germany; and her friend, Sylvia Moore (Rick) of Mississauga. The family will receive friends at the "HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL," 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1st followed by interment at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto. If desired, donations in Irene's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
