Obituary of John Sarjeant
SARJEANT, John Andrew At Sunnybrook Hospital with his family by his side, on February 6th, 2009. Jack's rich 83 years of life were centred on family and friends. As an active contributor to his community, he took great pleasure in enhancing the lives of others. Through life's journey, Jack explored the world through travel, was on a continuous quest for knowledge, and enjoyed sharing his insights with those around him. Jack was a true gentleman. His many adoring friends and family will miss his radiant smile and quick sense of humour. Dearly loved husband of his cherished late wife Marion, devoted father of Doug and his wife Anne Louise Gould, Bruce and his wife Barb Kieffer, Susan and her husband Nicholas Austin. Adoring and much loved Granddad of Elizabeth and Jon, Mitchell and Jackson, Jennifer and Julia. Greatly admired and fondly remembered by his sister Mary Gillespie of Barrie, sisters-in-law Mary Sarjeant, Joyce Sarjeant, Jean Reid of Ottawa, Helen Craig and her husband Jim. Predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Ross Sarjeant. The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff of Sunnybrook Hospital and also to Dr. David Satok for his dedicated care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Jack's life on Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 1:30pm at LAWRENCE PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2180 Bayview Avenue, Toronto. A reception will follow at the Church. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lawrence Park Community Church in Jack's name, to support the launch of a special youth outreach program.
