Janice ( Barnes ) Fahey posted a condolence

I was so deeply saddened to read about Tula's passing. She and George were great friends of my parents ( Tom and Laura Barnes ). My parents were so grateful for their friendship during their early days in Montreal. Tula was such a wonderful hostess to me during the 1976 Montreal Olympics. I was always fascinated by her stories and felt so much love from their family - from Tula having fudge Popsicles ( my favourite ) on hand for me. To talks with Diane and Jody playing the guitar for me. Tula had so much love and strength for her family. I will always cherish the long talks I enjoyed with her. All my love Tula, Janice

I was deeply sadden to read that my friend Tula had passed away. Although I have only met her daughter on a couple of occasions so what I will say is directed more to her sister. I had the pleasure of knowing GINA on many occasions both in Montreal and when doing antique shows in Toronto. I must say that Tula used to make my day when she would drop into my Antique Shoppe in Montreal- and that was very often - and she would always say "well my boy - how are you doing". That would be the beginning of long conversations that would cover a wide and varied range of subjects - politics"( I recall I mentioned Pierre Trudeau - boy did the fireworks explode!!), people we both knew and of course antiques as well, etc.!! What a real character she was - this meant in a most positive way - since once you met Tula and got to know her - you could never forget her. Hope GINA reads this since she too made a lasting impression on me. I pass along my sincerest sympathies to her since I know how good you were to her - and vice versa of course and can only imagine how you and all her Family will miss this most special person. Most sincerely, David

My father, Julius Mallin, considered George Boukydis his lifelong best friend. Dad told many stories about his youthful adventures with George and his sisters: singing songs and enjoying Diana Sweets (which I also remember fondly from my childhood.) It is sad to see that another of this gang has passed on - perhaps they will begin a song-filled get together in the next world. I hope all who grieve Tula's passing will find comfort in each other and in happy memories of her. Francesca Mallin Parker
