Bev and Family I was in Montreal stuck in a snow storm yesterday but had every intention otherwise to attend the service and express my condolences personally. You and the family have suffered through a difficult trail and i know that although this loss is enormous to you there is some solace to be taken in the fact that he is in a better place and no longer suffering .My old neighbour will be missed as will that golf swing of his . Please express my sympathies to the family and congratulate Katy on her single handed attempts to repopulate the world and all the best to all of you. Don

Dear Mrs. Ritcey & Family, Adding my condolences to my parent's below, please let me say that i'm so very grateful to Dr Ritcey for having saved my father not once but twice as he outlines below. Prior to that incredible day back in 1997, my father spent another stint at Humber South the previous year and being a man of a certain age and a heavy build, his cancer went undetected at that time. As his colleagues note he had great medical excellence and medical instincts indeed and because of that, i still have my father in my life. Thank you and my deepest sympathies, Nancy Masocco

Dear Mrs Ritcey & Family, Dr Ritcey was the professional who solved my problem in 1997. I had been in the Humber Hospital at York Finch for 12 days and every day i had 5 tests. The Doctors could not find my problem. It was Dr Ritcey who discovered my problem, called malignant thymoma, a very rare form of cancer. He sent me to see Dr Kashavjee, the best thoracic surgeon. That was the first time he saved my life. The second time was in 2001, when a cardiologist gave me the wrong medication. York Finch Hospital lost a very knowledgeable Doctor. One who could solve problems and occasionally showed his sense of humour. We will all miss him very much. Our deepest condolences to all, Julio & Anne Masocco

I was a close friend of Ted's when we were kids growing up in the Beach in east end Toronto. We both attended Balmy Beach School, and lived about a block apart on Balsam Ave. I was at #152, north of Pine Ave., and the Ritcey family home was farther south toward Queen St. With another buddy, Bob Labbett, we used to head down the street after school, and play in the Ritcey family back yard. I treasure any happy memories of those days, and although Ted and I have not been in touch for many years, I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing.I extend my deepest sympathy to all the members of Ted's family.

I want to extend my sympathies to the family of Dr. Ritcey. He has been my doctor for 26 years and I always enjoyed, looked forward to, my appointments. He was such a smart man, always had tidbits of information about so many things. We always discussed my kids and his grandkids as they were similar in ages. When I went to see Dr. Ritcey it was like going home to a friend. I understand his battle was a long and hard one and am glad that he can now find peace.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences on the passing of Dr. Ritcey. It was a privilege to work for Dr. Ritcey, who was Medical Director of our Pulmonary Function Labs. His generosity, humour, energy, medical excellence and just great medical instincts were wonderful. We all learned a great deal from him during his tenure. Time after time, patients would tell us what a fine doctor Dr. Ritcey was. His medical service made a great impact on many peoples lives. He was a good man.

Mrs. Ritcey and Family, We would like to express our deepest sympathy to all of you. Dr. Ritcey was a great man and a great Doctor his dedication and knowledge for his patients was always impressive and never went unnoticed. When I (Paul) had part of my lung removed in the early 1980's I remember Dr. Ritcey coming to see me at 11:00pm in the hospital just to check on me I have never had another Doctor do that and he never hessitated for one moment to send us for tests if he thought there was a change in our health. When we learned of his illness it was a shock. We both feel like we not only lost a Doctor but also a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. He will always be remembered. God Bless Sincerely, Paul and Sharron Smith

Dear Bev and Family Donna and I wish to extend to you our deepest sympathies at this time. It seems not so long ago that we enjoyed both of you at Beacon Hall along with the many who knew and liked you and Ted so much. We will remember Ted with so much fondness because he was the type of person that we all should aspire to be. He was such a kind, generous and gentle man who had a sense of humour that still brings a smile to our faces as we write this message. My only regret is that I couldn't give him the extra 25 yards off the tee that he so desperately wanted. In any case, his legacy is a very rich one and we will miss him.
