Obituary of Carole Ladocha
Carole Ladocha
July 30, 1945 - June 28, 2016.
With great sadness and peaceful hearts we announce that Carole passed away at Prince Margaret Hospital's palliative care unit, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of 45 years to Jiri, most loved mom of Nina (Duras), cherished by her son-in law, John Duras and her three grandsons, Hugo, Alec and Luke. She leaves behind her siblings Judi Adams, Brian MacPherson and their families.
Carole grew up in Lachine, Quebec. After completing her undergraduate degree at McGill University and graduate degree at the University of Western Ontario, she moved to Toronto in the late 1960s to take a post as a Psychologist at the former Queen Street Mental Hospital (now CAMH), where she worked for almost 40 years. After retirement, Carole and Jiri moved to their country house in southern Bohemia. When they moved back to Canada in 2008, Carole lived her life to the fullest - treating every day as a wonderful adventure. She tended to her incredible garden, enjoyed vacations with her husband, and visited with friends and family. But her greatest joy was spending as much time as she could with her three grandsons, laughing, playing and nurturing.
Carole will be dearly missed by all her lifelong friends and everyone touched by her kindness, intuition and love.
Carole passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Her final days were filled with much love, tears, peace and acceptance. A funeral will be held at 3pm on Tuesday July 5th, 2016 at Humphrey Funeral Home and a gathering thereafter. All are welcome. Carole always believed in rights of the innocent, including children affected by war and genocide. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to WarChild.
A special thank you to the renal doctors at TGH, the incredible palliative care team at PMH and a special thank you to all the wonderful nurses who helped with her care. You treated Carole with great kindness, and made her final days comfortable. We will be forever grateful.
