Our deepest condolences to the Burka Family.
Margaret & Mac were always remembered fondly by the Robertson Family.
We were privileged to have lunch with Margaret many years ago, when she came out to the airport to meet us.
She was a wonderful woman.

Condolences to Mac and the Burka family on the passing of Margaret, wife and mother. It was with much sadness that we learned that Margaret is not with us. I am using the name Margaret after calling her "Mrs. Burka" for many years and she broke me of that formal introduction The Hodgson's have many fond memories of our good neighbour and the Burka family. You will always be thought of as our neighbours and friends. With great affection. Bob & Heather Hodgson

On Jan 9 I will be unable to attend the service. As you know Barry and I are travelling and will not be returning home from Hong Kong until later that same day at 6PM. I am truly sorry that I cannot be there for all of you. I am deeply saddened by this event. I loved Marg deeply as her friend. I cannot express my sadness in words. I will always remember Marg's gentle touch in helping me to always remain a lady. I find it difficult to even believe that this has happened. I will call you as soon as I get home if not before. With my love to you all Mary Anne. Barry also sends his regrets and condolences.

Dear Mac, It is with great sadness that we share in your loss. In her life Marg's unconditional love of family, friends and commitment to the community was unparalleled The Toronto Commandery of St Lazarus has lost more than a past Commander, but indeed someone who was always available for mentorship and counsel. I am saddened that her dream of a Toronto Commandery Hospice did not come to fruition during her lifetime, but her legacy will challenges us to realize her goal. Our deepest sympathy.

Marg will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She was a very special lady who approached every activity with tremendous energy and devotion. Her long-standing support of the Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem is particularly appreciated and is an example of her kindness and generosity of spirit. My sincere condolences go to her family at this difficult time.

My Heartfelt Condolences to Marg's family during this very sad time. I worked with Marg for many years at the Royal's "Visitors to Canada" booth, and was always in awe of her energy, vitality and wisdom A truly exemplary human being who was one-of-a-kind. Even when I moved west to Qualicum Beach BC, she kept me in the loop and I returned to the Royal on several occasions just to be part of her group. Oh, how she will be missed!

I first met Mrs. Burka as a young boy, probably around 9 years old, when the Burka family bought their country home in Kettleby. I lived on the farm next door to the Burka's and soon became best friends with Brian. Mrs. Burka was always so welcoming to me whenever I visited Brian at his home in the country or on Russell Hill Road in the "big city". During those formative years, the Burka's introduced me to many new experiences such as fine dining at the Granite Club and attending upscale equestrian events. I think Mrs. Burka more than anyone knew how new and different some these experiences were for me as a small town country boy. She always went out of her way to make me feel like I fit right in and belonged. Mrs. Burka's kindness, generosity and graciousness has left a lasting impression on me that I can only hope to pass onto others as she did to me. Thank you Margaret! I'm very sad that you have left us but rest assured your positive impact on me and I'm sure countless other people will live on. My sincere condolences to the Burka family. I'm sorry I cannot travel to Toronto for the service and hope my Father can attend to represent the Hodgson family. Mark Hodgson Vancouver, BC
