Dear Candace, Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. Eric was so proud of you and the boys. I bumped into Eric one beautiful September day in 2007 at Starbucks on Bayview and he said he was just waiting to go and pick you up because you were doing a fundraising walk (probably the Weekend Walk to End Cancer)He spoke about your involvement with PMH and was clearly so proud of you. He also spoke about the boys and while they were now in university, University of Western Ontario I believe, he was still very much involved with Crescent. He was bursting with fatherly love and pride about your sons. I left thinking that this was a man who loved and appreciated his family very much and in so doing was blessed. With deepest sympathy, Helen Kearns, Gary Ursell and family

Candace, Brendan & Scott: While it doesn't seem fair that Eric was taken from you so early I'm certain that your time together was richer and more rewarding than most people will ever experience. And if Eric fought his cancer anything like I've seen him in action in a pillow fight then I know he gave it his all. Our thoughts are with you. Trevor, Shelagh, Michael & Christine

Dear Candace, Brendan and Scott Rick and I are so sorry to hear that Eric has lost his brave battle against cancer. He was such a nice, friendly person who worked very hard for the things, like Crescent, that were important to him. I will always remember his happy smile and enthusiasm before he headed out onto the slopes at Mansfield after we had FINALLY received a natural snowfall. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time. Sincerely, Naomi

I met Eric back in 1998 or 1999 and with a joint work project had the opportunity to spend a fair bit of time traveling with him to Montreal, Quebec City and around Toronto. He impressed me not only with his intellect and passion, but his very strong focus on his relationship with his family, which I believe he regarded as his greatest accomplishment. He had a light of energy as a person that made him a pleasure to speak with and spend time with. God Bless his family, he will be sorely missed. Terry Landrigan

It's been said that friends are like stars - we don't always see them, but we know that they're there. Far too many years have passed unattended, and we are deeply saddened that Eric is no longer with us. Many fond and vivid memories of his strength, intellect, vitality and passion for life and its lighter moments have been kindled by this tragic news, and we extend our affection, thoughts and wishes to Candace, Brendan and Scott. There's a star up there that now shines a bit brighter.
