I am gradually recovering from the shock but not from the loss of "my big sister". I have so many memories of our 60 years of friendship that I would like to share with you girls when you have time. Do you remember the four of you going to the theater with the three of us (Cats I think) and we laughed because we said we looked like the "little people" were all out together! Wonderful memories. My thought are with you.

Dear Anne Marie, I was saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. "She is just away", a poem by James Whitcomb Riley. "I cannot say, and I will not say That she is dead - she is just away! With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, She has wandered into an unknown land, And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since she lingers there, And you - O you, who the wildest yearn For the old time step and the glad return,- Think of her faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Here; Think of her still as the same, I say: She is not dead - she is just away!" Thinking of you and your family at this sad time. Karen Letwinka

Dear Sandra, Donna, Anne Marie and family We were all so sad to hear of your loss. Your mum was such a kind, gentle, open-hearted, fun-loving person who made everyone feel special and welcome in her home and in her life. I was very privileged indeed to enjoy her hospitality when I visited Canada and it was always great to hear her laugh and share a thought or comment with her. You will all feel very blue right now but, in the long run, happy memories last the longest and will put a smile on your face whenever you think of her. With love from Graeme, Kelda, Graeme's mum (Margaret), Alasdair, Jill and all the family in Scotland

I met you when I was 5, Your door was always open, Your smile so very genuine, Forever in your kitchen cooking, With your little TV on, We messed up your house, With dolls and dress clothes, But you would just smile, And ask me for lunch. As the years went by, You always extended your warmth, Asking me to stop by, Anytime I was at Baybrook, And I did and I am glad. You even asked me to call you Jean, I never did cause you will always be Mrs. Brown to me. Good memories and you will be missed. Linda Diamanti (Grant)

We were shocked and really saddened to hear Jean had died. She was very kind and welcoming to us when we first returned to Canada from the UK many years ago. We will miss her warm and comforting ways. Our thoughts and condolences to all of her family.
