It is with sadness that we see another great old time Argonaut passing away . there are not too many players of those years left. We treasure the times and fellowship of the Argo teams of that era. I particularily remember an incident when my husband Ted had sustained an injury during a game, and Joe was kind enough to find me at half time and reassure me about Ted. Do wish we could be there this afternoon, but not only the weather, but Ted's health make it too difficult. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Joan and Ted Toogood.

Dear Peter, Ginette and I would like to offer our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Joe's athletic accomplishments were an inspiration to our generation. But most of all I remember him over the many years as a good neighbour and friend to my Mom. The last time I talked at length with him was during Mom's birthday party, when he joined us and the rest of the neighbourhood to celebrate Mom's birthday and the fellowship of Beaufield. After talking to you on the phone Peter, I realized that I should express my sympathy on behalf of my wife Donna and myself to the whole family. We regret not being able to meet them in person. Joe was not only a great football player but a wonderful person and a true Argonaut through and through. Looking to seeing you Peter at future Alumni luncheons.

Peter, Tina, Ryan and Sarah I remember your father/grandfather as an executive member of the Leaside Baseball Association in the 1960's. He could be seen passing around the "Old Coffee Pot" and cheering for his sons at Talbot Park. He was truly the Canadian sports icon of the 20th Century. Donna and I feel proud that we have met him. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the whole family of Mr. Krol. I grew up on Beaufield and as a child regularly spoke to Mr. Krol. At the time I had no idea as to his fame but adored his friendship for what it was. He was a very kind neighbour who always had something kind to say to my grandparents and I.
