Obituary of George White

WHITE, George Donald, CPA CA Passed away peacefully at Harmony Hills on Friday, April 22, 2016. George is survived by his sons David and Paul, daughter-in-law Claudine, brother Allan, grandchildren Lucas and Alyssa, niece Allison and nephew Kevin. George was a Michigan Tech Huskies hockey alumnus and Letterman. Post-university, George headed west to Kitchener-Waterloo where he built a substantial public accounting practice, ultimately becoming the region's Managing Partner. In 1979, George and the other Leaside Hockey Old Boys reunited to play a squad of NHL Oldtimers to help fund a new roof and lighting for the Leaside Gardens, the arena where his grandson plays hockey today. George was especially fond of, and perhaps most at ease at, Rostrevor Beach Resort, with his dear friends the Burtons, Bosleys, Raines, and Purdys. Grueling mens doubles tennis matches, waterskiing, boating, and steaks cooked over charcoal. A special thank you to George's lifelong friend Ron who spent so much time with George over the past 15 years. Dad/Pops, we will miss you. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Saturday, April 30th from 3:30 p.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the Rosedale Room.
