Obituary of C. Wayne McIlmoyl
McILMOYL, C. Wayne
Loving and devoted husband of Barbara for (almost) 50 years. Proud father of Bonnie (Doug Klaassen), Bradley and Daniel (Stefanie Seguin), and adoring and cherished grandfather of Isolde McIlmoyl. Wayne passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 21, 2016 after a short (but fierce) fight with cancer. He spent his final days surrounded by the love of his family, who are devastated by his passing, but forever thankful for the opportunity to say our goodbyes. He was deeply loved. Born on March 27, 1944, he attended Queen's University where he met the love of his life Barbara. Wayne spent his entire career teaching at Danforth Technical School in Toronto, and was lucky to retire early with his best friend David Alexander. He took full advantage of early retirement, visiting his family and friends, golfing and having adventures around the world on cruises with Barb. He was an avid and life-long golfer and curler, but time spent with his family (and especially Isolde) at his cottage in Haliburton, was valued most. We will miss his laugh (and bad jokes) every day. Thanks to the staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate and exceptional care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26th and Wednesday, April 27th. Service in the chapel on Thursday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m. where friends are invited to share their favourite stories and memories at the service or via email to bonnie.mcilmoyl@gmail.com. Donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.We rejoice in the life you lived.
