Obituary of James Oliphant

OLIPHANT, James LeRoy Passed away after a valiant fight to live on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Veteran's KWING, just five and a half weeks short of his 95th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Stephens Oliphant and devoted, loving father of Dr. Naomi Joyce Oliphant of Louisville, Kentucky. Dear uncle to Deborah Wilkinson (Jamie) and Karen Parrinder (Peter) and their families. Fondly remembered by cousins in Scotland. Predeceased by his parents Gordon L. and Alexina Oliphant, brother Thomas A. "Bud" Oliphant, aunt and uncle James and Eliza B. McKenzie, and sister-in-law Phyllis McGibbon Cruickshank. The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided over the past five years by the staff of KWING and by his dedicated and caring aides, Rosita Gonzales and Cynthia Blackwood. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00.
