Obituary of Jacalyn Dann

Jacalyn Darlene Dann December 16, 1946 - March 14, 2016 After a valiant fight against cancer, Jacalyn passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Toronto surrounded by family. She was a beloved wife to Victor Dann, mother to Jillian Dann Macerollo (Paul Macerollo) and Gabrielle Dann (Nelson Francisco Rodriguez), and future grandmother to Jillian and Paul's child arriving this fall. Jacalyn was the sole child of Norma and William Gant of Hudson, Ohio. Jacalyn earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where she also taught communications. Inspired by her strong belief in the power of happiness, Jacalyn created and facilitated an original workshop called "The Happy Switch". Nothing brought Jacalyn more happiness than her children, who meant everything to her. She will be very dearly missed. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22nd for a service. A reception to follow in the Rosedale and Leaside room.
