Obituary of Grace Vivian Tate

TATE, Grace Vivian (nee Mummery) On Wednesday, January 6, 2016 after a long battle with poor health, Mom passed away peacefully at Providence Healthcare in her 94th year. Beloved wife to the late George Eric Tate and loving mother to John Lawrence, Lorraine, and Kathy. Cherished grandmother to Megan, Sharon, Wade and Patricia, and to a new great-granddaughter Chevy. Loving sister to the late Robert Lamont Mummery. Grace was born in Hamilton and moved to the High Park area of Toronto. She graduated as a registered nurse in September, 1945 from Toronto General Hospital. After working for a couple of years, she married Dad and moved to Grand Valley, later to Listowel, and then back to Toronto. She was a charter member of Donminster United Church, now Jubilee United in Don Mills. A special thanks to the staff at Providence Healthcare for their care and support. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) for a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31st. Reception to follow.
