Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2015 in Atlantis, Florida, just days before his 90th birthday. Devoted husband to his wife of 62 years, Anne (nee Brooks); loving father to David (Ann), Susan, Andrew, and Peter (Linda); and adoring
grandfather to Nicole and Brent; a cherished brother to Joy Boblitt and John Brightling.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, 'Rev Bev' served as Rector to parishes in Cannington, Beaverton and Sunderland (1953-55); Penetanguishene (1955-59); and Toronto (Church of the Resurrection, 1959-1970, and Church of the Ascension, 1970-1989). He also delivered regular sermons on CFRB's Moments of Meditation' program. For twelve years, Bev served as a Senator at the University of Toronto. He also served as Chaplain to the St. John Ambulance for Metro Toronto. His long and happy retirement was spent summering in Toronto and wintering in Florida, as well as travelling the world with his adventurous wife Anne.
Visitations on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Celebration of life service on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 11:00 a.m., both being held at the Church of the Ascension at 33 Overland Drive, Don Mills, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to University of Toronto's Wycliffe College (416-946-3524) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
