My heartfelt condolences to Everett's daughters and family, and also to my old friend, his sister Betty Beeman. I write from Wassenaar, Netherlands, where Freddie's parents were our neighbours when they were ambassadors at the Canadian Embassy.
But also my late husband Peter and I share many years of friendship with Everett and Freddie, which started during our work with MRA and just continued!

How joyous was his love of life! I sometimes thought it was faked, but, over time, I came to realize it was genuine. It was his faith. God bless you both.

Everett, a great soul. Joanna met Everett and Freddie while her parents were members of MRA. While ; living in Markham in 1993 we renew our friendship and had many great times together. Terry remembers Everett's imitation of the bus ,of his boyhood, which would regularly travel pass on Highway 1 to Toronto. He would perfectly reproduce the engine and the changing of the gears.it delighted all, most of all Everett. He will always be in our memory and look forward to joining him when we cross the bar, Joanna AND Terry Miller

We were privileged to be hosted by Everett and Freddy in their home a number of years ago with other friends involved with Initiatives of Change. They were gracious and warm hearted hosts. Everett was a good listener and perceptive and asked questions that engaged us beyond the superficial conversations. Our condolence to the family as they grieve his passing.

Everett was an important person who was generous and wise. I knew him for the last 20 years through St. Augustine's. I let him read some of my history books, which he was always quite interested in. We also took turns having lunch together at our respective clubs (on this, he got off easy since he still owes me a lunch at Rosedale!). A long time ago, Everett managed my grandfathers money after my grandfather went into politics and had to have his assets in a blind trust. I always enjoyed Everett's stories about selling brushes door-to-door. What I will always remember about Everett is that he was more than he seemed (and I mean this in a good way because he always seemed substantial). He was like buying a record by a rock band where you know their big hit but not much more, only to discover that the rest of the album is rich and full and composed/performed by musicians, not pop artists. Everett knew about history. He knew about politics. And he knew about people. He had profound thoughts, he was creative, and he was curious (few people are). I was pleased to know him, and I will miss him. My condolences to all family and friends. Eric Flint

Everett was the last of three men who fundamentally changed my life some 57 years ago when they introduced me to MRA (Moral ReArmament) now known as IofC. I well remember the evenings we spent discussing our lives in a coffee shop across the street from where the film "Freedom" was showing in Edmonton. We would meet as the film began and then they would have to be sure to get bak to the theatre as the show ended to talk with any theatre goeers that wanted to know more.
I have always been fundamentaly grateful for the time they spent with me, and for other meetings over the years as we worked together to help others find God's will for their lives.

Dearest Everett - you will be sadly missed. Your care and support whist we lived in Canada was unbounded. From the day we arrived in Canada we were fully embraced by the Fleming family. I remember so vividly the warm welcome when Lou and I came through wintery snow to Dawlish Avenue to be entertained by you, Freddy, Ann and Katie. Then in the summer days all the fun at Lake Simcoe. You acted as mentor to me when I went in to banking and we enjoyed many a round of golf. Your hospitality was always most generous after we left Toronto. Our memories will be carried forever - you and your family mean so much to us.
Thank you so much for everything .

Katie, Anne and family! It is with sincere deep regret that I heard of the passing of your father, my Godfather, Everett. Please feel my sorrow and positive feelings that I'm sending to you and your families. Words cannot lessen your loss. Your Dad was a great man and both he and your mom were more active in my memories as a younger man. I'll always remember his invitations to take my dad golfing with him and occasionally I was included. He always was genuine and had great opinions to share on life well lived. Please forgive my not being their in person to celebrate with you Everett's life so very well lived!! My boys commitments are keeping me here in London tonight and tomorrow. God Bless. Your dad is now back with your mom and happy certainly not in pain any longer. We love you all!! I hope that in the coming weeks our paths will cross and I'll give you a big hug!! Love Love Love John, Owen Nolan and Griffin Stevenson 519- 200-4004

I worked near Everett at Royal Bank Investment Management and knew him well and enjoyed his lively conversations and good humour. A number of us were invited to his home for Christmas "sing alongs" and deeply enjoyed the hospitality of he and his delightful wife, Freddy. My deepest condolences to his family.....he spoke often of his daughters with great affection. He will be missed. Sharon Sampson-Mueller
