A prayer for you, Mr. Lysko. You were the best teacher I ever had, an amazing guy who kept me out of trouble but still encouraged me to have fun and be a teenager

I have such fond memories of Uncle Oz. He was a big part of my childhood and will always be remembered with a smile when I think of the great times we had together.
My brother, Cam, and I spent a lot of our childhood growing up with and looking up to Jim and Anthony. What ever we did together we always had a lot of fun. Time spent at the farm in Orangeville was incredible. I feel that Uncle Oz really knew the balance of hard work and enjoying life, both for himself and his children. As a father now, I can appreciate this that much more.
I will cherish the times that we shared. My heart felt condolences to everyone that is sharing in this loss and especially to Aunt Diane, Jim and Anthony.

I was overwhelmed with but not surprised with the amazing turn out of family, friends, teachers and students that came to pay their respects to my father. I am sad for the loss but extremely proud knowing how loved and well respected he truly was. I will miss you but never forget how great of a dad and mentor you were to me.

My sincere sympathy to your entire family. I am glad that I was able to speak briefly with Diane, Anthony and Jim at today's visitation. Ozzie was a wonderful mentor when I was a beginning teacher at Valley Park Jr. H.S. in 1973. Over the following 16 years, we became friends and enjoyed may Christmas and End-Of-Year staff parties.

Many years ago, I had the good fortune of having Ozzie Lysko as one of my teachers at Northlea Public School in Leaside. I distinctly remember his firm and stern voice.and dominating presence in the classroom. Circa. Approx. 1968. He was one of those few teachers that I never forgot. My older brother, Ed, also a student, to this day, still brings up his famous line........".Hudson....you are on thin ice........and it's getting HOT!!" Who could forget that?
My condolences to the family..

Herb and I met Ozzie a few years ago when Diane and Ozzie moved across the road from us. Both Diane and Ozzie were enjoying their new home on Crystal Beach in Innisfil. Ozzie loved to chat and had a great sense of humour. We remember Ozzie wearing his Baseball Cap on his head as he walked his dog to the Park. We will certainly miss him. Our condolences to Diane and their 2 sons and grandchildren.
