O'BRIEN, David Gerard, LL.B. David's marathon of life ended Monday, September 14, 2015 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. "OB" was an avid chocolate chip cookie baker, a voracious reader, an accomplished writer and a life-long hockey and squash player, cyclist and passionate runner. In his 56 years, he raced 49 full marathons, 7 ultra-marathons and 1 half Ironman. He was predeceased by his father Edward in 1981 and mother Joan in 2009. He is survived by his incredible children Zachary (20), Jake and Hayley (16) and wife Michelle Lewis. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Anne, Jane and Marie, his nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephew and MANY cherished friends. His perseverance, tenacity, courage and great humour are legacies he leaves to his children and all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CNIB / Children's Wish Foundation / Banff-Jasper Relay Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. His life will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2015, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Maple Leaf Gardens (Mattamy Athletic Centre).
