Obituary of Gizelle Kerney
How often can it be said of a person who has lived to be 99, that they were gone too soon?
Much beloved by family and friends alike, Gizelle left us peacefully on September 4, 2015 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Born in Kispest, Hungary to Aladar and Anna Ondrejkovic on February 25th, 1916 she was predeceased by her dear husband, Alexander, in 1992 and by her sister, Kamila Cuzy and her niece, Daniela Belovic. She will be forever missed by her children Peter (Susan) and Veronica Cowling (Richard); grandchildren, Heidi Rose (Eric Eisen), Patrick (Heidi Joy Nisker), Matthew Higgins (Maya), Christopher Higgins (Kayla), Katherine Higgins (Kyle Dewar) Michael Higgins and James Higgins; great grandchildren, Stella, Izzy, Noa, Chloe, William and Anna as well as by her niece, Ditta Cuzy and great nieces, Barbara and Nicole, nephew Reuven and a wealth of friends around the world. Gizelle was a generous and loving person, caring for her family above all else. Many who came within her circle of acquaintance became extended family and were welcomed into her heart and home. Gizelle was known for her hospitality, elegance, passion for flowers and incomparable cooking and baking.
Thank you, Mom, for your love and care and shining example of a life well lived. At this time, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bayshore Home Health and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Stephen Ross for his attentive care.
