Obituary of Diana Whyte

Diana Elizabeth Whyte May 22, 1938 - August 22, 2015 With deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Diana Elizabeth Whyte. Di bravely fought a long battle and died peacefully at home in Toronto with her family around her. She is survived by John, her husband of 54 years; and her children, John (Michele), David (Kate) and Lesley (Geoffrey); her adoring grandchildren, Emma, Peter, Heather, Meg, William and Catherine; and her brother, David Edmunds (Dulcie). Di graduated from St. Clement's School and went on to become a registered nurse, graduating from Toronto East General Hospital in 1960. She was dedicated to her nursing, particularly enjoying her time at The Hospital for Sick Children. A devoted mother, Di gave up nursing to raise her family, always selflessly putting everybody's interests before her own. She will be remembered fondly for her kind gentle soul, her endless smile, and her ability to put everyone at ease with a genuine interest in other people. held at Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street, at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, September 9th, followed by a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Sunnybrooke's Odette Cancer Centre.
