Obituary of Donald Brundage PhD
BRUNDAGE, Dr. Donald H.
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of Dr. Brundage on Saturday, August 1, 2015, following many weeks of superb care in Providence Health Centre and North York General Hospital, where he enjoyed his 89th birthday. He leaves Kay, his loving wife of 66 years, and Mark and Denise, Michael and Kristy, Anne and Terry (Pruner), as well as his admired and greatly loved grandchildren Cole, Harrison, Carter, Anna and Emmett Brundage, and Lauren, Brendan, and Cameron Pruner.
Don grew up in Alberta, graduating from University in Edmonton, also from George Williams College in Chicago, and with a doctorate from Columbia University, New York. For 11 years he worked with the YMCA in Calgary and at the National Council in Toronto. He also spent 23 years in Administration and as a highly appreciated Professor of Adult Education at O.I.S.E (University of Toronto.)
An avid curler and tennis player, Don also enjoyed travel, family camping, and music, especially the 60 years he and Kay sang together in a variety of choirs. He relished the unbroken consecutive decades of family celebrations in Toronto and at the cottage, and the many friends whose lives he shared, often 50 years and more. A memorial service will be held in JUBILEE UNITED CHURCH, 40 Underhill Drive, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22. If desired, donations to Jubilee United Church (M3A 2J5), The Canadian Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
