Obituary of Maureen Gardner

GARDNER, Maureen Emily (nee Mullen).On Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit. After a brief struggle with cancer, she found her way to peaceful rest. Daughter of Harry and Mary Mullen, mother of Sam and Vince, and sister to Joan Kenny and Eileen Mullen. A loving and devoted mother and sister, she was also accomplished in her career as a systems analyst at the Hudson's Bay Company for many years. Those who knew Maureen admired her intelligence, her strong personal and moral strength, her openness, her quiet dignity and her sense of humour. She loved spending time with her sons, travelling with them in Canada, the U.S., France and Ireland, and enjoying many quiet times with them at home in Toronto. She will be much missed by all of us.The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2008. A service to celebrate and honour Maureen's life will be held at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
