I am so sorry to learn of Frank's passing. I met him years ago at an employment centre and would think of him periodically. I wanted to reach out to him now but see he has passed. He was colourful and humourous and very entertaining. I am sure he is missed by many.

I was terribly saddened to hear of Frank’s passing. Frank raced the RCYC Tuesday nights on my family boat Sceptre. Frank always ensured the boat was rigged and race ready before any of the crew arrived. But his real joy was flying the main sail and calling tactics. He spoke of his family, sailing with the blind, and his dear friend Erica whom I had the pleasure of meeting. I have many fond memories of Frank and most cherished is knowing that Frank sailed his last race with me.

Dear Family, I was saddened when reading the notice of the passing of Frank. Our relationship goes back many years when Frank's parents relocated to Toronto. I sailed Star boats with the Ferris' Frank was great company when I joined him at Shellback meetings. You and I will have memories that will always keep him in mind. Peter Van B

Frank taught me how to tie knots and hold the tiller which for me this had been a dream but being visually impaired was almost impossible. He taught the old fashioned way you ask once and the second time you got it right and that was that. We spent many hours bobbing in a small boat on Lake Ontario and Frank spoke of his mother, his son, his daughter and his grand children whom he often thought of and remembered better days. Very often after a sail we would sit outside the Coffe Time on Spadina and Frank spoke about his years of employment in the "good old days". Frank dedicated his time and waning energy to fixing the boat "the way it should be done" and giving selflessly every weekend and during the week helping sailors like myself achieving the unachievable in the public eye. Many a day Frank was in pain and over the last three seasons went through various surgeries and treatments. No matter how bad he felt the boat always went on time with Frank at the helm in his white attire braces and bucket hat. Frank had been working on a wooden chest that he wanted to complete for his new apartment and he described how much care he took finding the exact colour carpet that he wanted. I pray that Frank is able to find the inner peace which he yearned for. I will miss his firm orders to set the sails to the wind. I know that Frank will be on that sleek yeacht that he said he would get someday. Go in peace my friend you taught me some good life lessons. Fond memories Cheryl
