My father went to UCC with Bruce, back in the days. He was so funny with his quick witt. as well as the laughter. When ever a party was in the works, he & Helen were always on the list. He & I always had an inside joke. Bruce will be missed by all who knew him.

Mrs Lloyd, I am a volunteer at Sunnybrook and I had the privilege of taking Bruce to the weekly chapel service which he was eager to attend. He was always so courteous and appreciative and before I left him in his room he always thanked me and was looking forward seeing me again the following week. I attended the service and your son Tom really made us laugh. He was a good man and I am going to miss him. After the busyness of the moment is over may you be embraced with a sense of peace.. Shalom....Ary

Dear Helen and family. So sad to hear of the family's loss. So many wonderful childhood memories over so many years!! Our families shared many great times from summers in Lake Simcoe to get-togethers in Toronto. I can still hear Bruce's laugh, his optimism about life, and more importantly the way he cared about everyone. For me, a very admirable individual. Our sympathies to all. Bruce Somerville & family

Although I met Bruce later in life, his captivating smile, his warm laugh, and his great love of the industry made us fast friends. He always loved to tell stories to me... especially involving Denis Evans. We miss you. our thoughts and prayers are with your wife and family.

One of my most favorite memories of Bruce is when the OSSGA gave him an honourary lifetime membership in 2010. He and Helen travelled to Niagara to accept the award in front of a room full of his peers, and his acceptance speech was one of the best I have ever heard. He was so pleased to be recognized; I just hope he knows how recognized he always was by me and many others. A truly unique businessman with a great big heart. I will miss him very much.

To the Lloyd Family; Please accept my sincerest condolences. I am very sad to hear this news, but he will always live large in my memory. In the early '80s, I came into the aggregate industry as a keen young geologist out of the metal mining industry and got involved with the industry association, then known as APAO. I met Bruce at one of my first industry functions, and he was kind, interested, outspoken, encouraging, and most of all, more than willing to see me put some hard work into the industry to make the industry better. Contrary to many other men in the industry then (early '80s) he encouraged me to get to know everyone and work hard, and that there would be a place for me. I never forgot that. Today I run a successful construction industry started by a similar businessman, and I can tell you that I have worked hard, but knowing that Bruce was part of my success has always been important to me.

Sorry to hear this sad news. I had the pleasure to sit on the OSSGA Board (then the APAO) with Bruce who was there in his capacity as a past president. We all enjoyed Bruce's colourful descriptive language about what civil servants did and what they might be better used for. In his gravelly voice it would usually start with "Well, I don't want anyone to think I have made up my mind, but..." You knew it was coming. Please know that Bruce was highly respected and he happily shared his wealth of knowledge with some us then greenhorns as we came through the business.

Bruce I can still hear that laugh. I remember the wood boat ride you took us on in Muskoka. The Chris Craft that sank the next day. Always a fun memory when we think of the Lloyd Family. Our prayers are with Helen and the extended Family.

It is with profound sadness to hear Mr. Bruce Lloyd passing. My sincere heartfelt condolences to the "Lloyd Families" especially Mrs. Helen Lloyd. You may not remember me as many years gone by. How could I ever forget wonderful people in my life that left such an impression of knowledgeable wealth, politeness of care. At Rosedale Golf Club in early 80's employed assisting many Golf events is where I met Mr. Lloyd and some family members especially, his sister Sandra remain in heart. Mr. Lloyd was one of a kind, that I respected appreciated. Many golf tournament's he would stop by the lounge while engaged in certain events at the club just too say hello...how are things? His appreciation toward people, his generosity in memory have continued this day. Even to share many special events held at the "Granite Club" where I was employed represented assisted many members during functions. Mr. Bruce Lloyd one of the "Great Ones" held with outstanding admiration. I have missed so many wonderful people and never had the opportunity to say goodbye. I want to thank you Mr. Lloyd, family members to share your sorrow. You will always be special in memory....till we meet again.
