Obituary of Dorothy Mooney

MOONEY, Dorothy Blanche It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Dorothy on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in her one hundred and third year. She died peacefully with her family at her side. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Hiram Mooney and her five siblings, Dorothy is survived by her loving children Norma Mahoney (Brian), Grant Mooney (Mary) and Gail MacNeill (Glenn). Cherished grandmother to Jeffrey, Laura, Krista, Jennifer, Stephanie, Ashley, Megan and Geordie and great-grandmother to Harrison, Genevieve and Andie. Dorothy will be remembered as a gentle, compassionate and sensitive mother who was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed traveling and her volunteer work with the United Church Women's Group. Her sense of integrity and commitment were exemplified in her extended working career, finally retiring at the age of 80. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bethany Lodge for their loving and compassionate care of our mother. The family will receive friends and extended family at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of their choice.
