Obituary of Katherine MacKenzie

MacKENZIE, Katharine BeatriceAt Christie Gardens on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the age of 96 years. Katharine MacKenzie was born in Lucknow, Ontario on May 7, 1912, the daughter of the late William and Annie (Paterson) MacKenzie. She was predeceased by her brothers Alex, Tom, Bill, Frank and John MacKenzie. Katharine is survived by 11 nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and nephews. She lived in Toronto and Thornhill since the late 1930's, teaching elementary school at Park and John Wanless Public Schools. Katharine was a long time member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Toronto. Her vibrant faith in Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life. She was an inspiration to many and a long time supporter of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Katharine was a friendly, giving person who touched many lives. She will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from two o'clock on Thursday, August 14, 2008 until the time of the service in the chapel at three o'clock. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment will occur at the cemetery in Lucknow, Ontario at a later date.
