Pere Pere was truly a unique person who inspired everyone around him. What a treasure! He made you want to be a better person. He encapsulated so many qualities all in one person - humor, strength, hard working, gentleman, thoughtfulness, listener, mentor, intellect. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Love Deb and John xoxo

We were neighbours of Mary and Lee in what we are sure was known to you as the Heenan house. The description of your dad in his obituary was perfect. He was indeed witty, generous of spirit, charming and certainly a friend to us. It was always a special day when we have a chat or even an across the street wave with Lee. We were in Michigan for a funeral of a cousin at the exact same time as the funeral mass for your dad. Otherwise we would have been there to tell you directly how privileged we were to have Lee in our life. A very special guy.

I have soooo many fond memories of Mr. B. Many years ago he would be visiting at our cottage on Sparrow Lake and he and my Dad would have some great times together. He used to tease me, because for some strange reason my mother would put red socks on me at a very young age and Mr.B would tease about those stupid red socks. Funny the little things we remember. When I think of Lee I only see him with his "signature smile" he always had a warm loving smile on his face. He was a great guy and always set a good example. A life well lived. Lot's of good Bourgon memories.

Although we came into Lee's life later than most, we seemed to make an immediate connection through my sister Norma. We loved his sense of
humor, his positive outlook on life in general and he was always glad to
see us. He visited our son's home in Arizona with us, saw the Grand
Canyon and was such a delight to be around. We were so very glad we get the chance to see him before he left us and will always remember him as
a dear friend. Our deepest sympathies to all the family.

Pere Pere made the trip all the way to Bayfield for a shower at our cottage for Megan and Dave. He captivated us all with his quick wit and wonderful stories. He told me how much he loved Megan and how happy he was that Dave had found the perfect person with whom to share the rest of his life. Megan felt so fortunate to have Pere Pere in her life, to learn from his infinite wisdom and to share the very close bond that Dave and Pere Pere had formed over their lifetime. Pere Pere has left this world a little brighter and will continue to keep a watchful eye over his beloved grandchildren from above.

I would like to share a part of my Toast welcoming Dave into the family at Megan and Dave's wedding. It was a tribute to Pere Pere who had become a very important person in Megan's life, the grandfather she had not had the opportunity to have in her own family. Ross, Ellen's father, and George, Chris's father had died before Megan was born.
"I do believe there is a special person here today, that if given the chance, Megan's grandfathers would have liked to thank. Pere Pere has been a pivotal person in shaping the man Dave is today. Pere Pere you have opened your heart to our Megan and enriched her life with your wisdom, your unique sense of humour, and your optimistic but practical views on life."

“When he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish sun.” ― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet Lee will always have his light shining for all of to see the best way to live life fully- with lots of stories, laughter, charm and kindness. He was my favorite dad- always welcomed Barbara Lee's girlfriends in the home for a visit or on the phone. I have known him since I was a teenager and have never left his presence without feeling warmer, lighter, kinder. He is the only man I know who cooked dinner in his own kitchen when he was in his 90's for his daughter crammed between more social events that some younger people. He will make heaven's stars shine brightly and teach those in heaven how to enjoy a social event with a twinkle in his eye, and with a dashing style in fashion and personality. Barb, Tom, Sara, Paul, Matt, David, Megan, Katie, Chris. My heart and prayers are with you all during this sad time. Now you have your own heavenly star to watch over you with love and guidance. Much love, Mary Grogan
