Obituary of Apostolis Makriyannis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Apostolis. After a courageous two-year battle with leukemia, he passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 in his 77th year. Apostolis was the proud father of Theodore and the beloved husband of Maria. He was predeceased by his daughter Lina. The youngest of seven siblings, he came to Canada from Greece in 1962 and celebrated his Greek heritage through teaching Greek folk dancing. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 15. A funeral service will be held in ST. GEORGE'S GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 115 Bond Street on Tuesday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
